Mont-de-Lans is a town and commune Déléguée in the French commune of Les Deux Alpes with 1,141 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The inhabitants are called lantillons .
With effect from January 1, 2017, the former municipalities of Mont-de-Lans and Vénosc were merged to form Commune nouvelle Les Deux Alpes . The municipality of Mont-de-Lans was part of the arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Oisans-Romanche .
geography
Mont-de-Lans is about 35 kilometers east-southeast of Grenoble . Mont-de-Lans is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Le Freney-d'Oisans in the north, Mizoën in the northeast, La Grave in the east, Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans in the southeast, Vénosc in the south and Le Bourg-d'Oisans in the west as well as Auris in the northwest.
The Les Deux Alpes winter sports area is part of the Commune déléguée .
