Montee Ball, Jr. (* 5. December 1990 in McPherson , Kansas ) is a former American American football poker players in the position of running backs . He played for the Denver Broncos in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Ball attended the University of Wisconsin and played college football for their team, the Badgers, with great success from 2009 to 2012 . He was able to win the Big Ten Conference championship three times with his team and has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Archie Griffin and Doak Walker Awards and has been accepted into various national teams. In a total of 49 games he was able to achieve 83 touchdowns . He holds a number of records, both at college and conference - as well as at NCAA level.

Denver Broncos

Despite his outstanding performance in college football, he was selected in the 2013 NFL Draft only in the 2nd round as the 58th player by the Denver Broncos . Already in his rookie year he was used regularly and was able to reach the Super Bowl with his team , where the Broncos had to admit defeat to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XVIII . In his second season, Ball seemed to be able to establish himself as a starter , but suffered a persistent groin injury in week 5, which put him out of action for the rest of the season. In the 2015 preseason he fought with CJ Anderson , Ronnie Hillmann and Tuwan Thompson for a place in the Broncos squad and was dismissed by the Broncos on September 6, 2015 after poor performance in the preparatory games.

New England Patriots

On December 15, 2015, the New England Patriots enlisted Ball for their Practice Squad . He was released on February 5, 2016, shortly after being charged with assault and temporarily detained in an argument with his girlfriend .
