Montgirod is a commune Déléguée with 482 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the town of Aime-la-Plagne in the department of Savoie in the region Rhône-Alpes . It belonged to the arrondissement of Albertville and the canton of Bourg-Saint-Maurice ( Aime until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Montgirotains .

With effect from January 1, 2016, the former municipalities of Aime , Granier and Montgirod were merged to form a commune nouvelle called Aime-la-Plagne in the equally new Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region .

geography

Montgirod is located about 22 kilometers southeast of Albertville in the Tarentaise valley on the Isère . Route nationale 90 runs through the village .
