Montura is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hendry County in the US state of Florida with 3,283 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Montura is about 40 km southeast of LaBelle and about 160 km northwest of Miami .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 3283 inhabitants were distributed over 1208 households. 76.7% of the population identified themselves as whites , 2.1% as African American , 1.7% as Indians and 0.5% as Asian Americans . 15.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.5% to several ethnic groups. 69.1% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 and 28.5% of all households lived in 43.6% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 75.9% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 3.22 people and the average family size was 3.57 people.

31.7% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 27.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 17.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 36 years. 52.9% of the population were male and 47.1% were female.

The median annual income was $ 29,792, with 26.2% of the population living below the poverty line.
