The Hendry County is a county in the state of Florida of the United States . The county seat is in LaBelle .

The county has an area of 3,082 square kilometers, of which 96 square kilometers are water. It is bordered by counties in a clockwise direction: Palm Beach County , Broward County , Collier County , Lee County , Charlotte County, and Glades County .
history
Hendry County was formed in 1923 from parts of Lee County and named after Captain Francis A. Hendry , one of the first settlers.

The average household size was 3.09 people and the average family size was 3.48 people.
31.0% of the population were younger than 20 years, 28.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 24.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 15.9% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 33 years. 54.2% of the population were male and 45.8% were female.
The median annual income was $ 37,989, with 26.0% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2010, English was the mother tongue of 58.34% of the population, 40.22% spoke Spanish and 1.44% had another mother tongue.
