Collier County is located in southern Florida, bordering the Gulf of Mexico to the west and southwest and has a total area of ​​5970 km² . 5246 km² of this is land, 724 km² (12.13%) is water.

The county is listed by the Office of Management and Budget for statistical purposes under the name Naples-Immokalee-Marco Island Metropolitan Statistical Area .
