The metropolitan area of ​​Sarasota is a metropolitan area on the west coast of the US state of Florida. It represents a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) defined by the Office of Management and Budget and is officially called North Port – Sarasota – Bradenton Metropolitan Statistical Area by the authority . It includes the counties of Manatee and Sarasota . The largest cities in the metropolitan area are North Port , Sarasota and Bradenton .

At the time of the 2010 census , the area had 702,281 residents.

Furthermore, the region is combined with the MSA Punta Gorda and the µSA Arcadia to form the CSA North Port – Sarasota , which also includes the counties Charlotte and DeSoto . In 2010 it had a total of 897,121 inhabitants.
