history

The church in Moosen was already awarded in 769 by the Bavarian Duke Tassilo III. first mentioned to the bishop of Freising . The Catholic parish church of St. Stephanus is a late Gothic brick building with a retracted choir, attached sacristy and spindle helmet tower from around 1500. The tower superstructure was designed by Anton Kogler in 1701. The Bavarian community edict of May 17, 1818 led to the formation of the Moosen community. The former name Moosen without the addition (Vils) was used until 1937. The former parish consisted of 44 parish parts and covered 1622 hectares . It was incorporated on January 1, 1972 with the Hubenstein community, which was incorporated into Taufkirchen on October 1, 1925 .
