Morgan Sanson (born August 18, 1994 in Saint-Doulchard ) is a French football player .

Club career

Sanson began playing football as a child in the central French town of Bourges , where he first belonged to a small club and then to the city's most important club, FC Bourges . From there he moved to the youth department of the professional club Le Mans FC in 2009 at the age of 14 ; at Le Mans he made the jump to the reserve team at the beginning of 2012, with whom he competed in the fourth division. At the beginning of the 2012/13 season he signed a professional contract for the second division team and made his professional debut when he ran up in his team's 1: 2 against FCO Dijon on August 3, 2012 from the start; After the encounter he became a regular player, but had to accept relegation to the third division at the end of the season.

Nevertheless, Sanson had aroused the interest of the first division club HSC Montpellier , who offered the player a four-year contract valid from summer 2013. Despite the relegation, he still had a valid contract at Le Mans, but the financially badly troubled club accepted the transfer fee of 700,000 euros, which opened the way for the 18-year-old Sanson to the top French division. After he had not been considered in the course of the first game days, he made his first division debut on September 14, 2013 in a 0-0 win against Stade Reims , where he was on the field from the start, and then fought for a regular place in the attacking midfield. He and his teammates had to fight relegation and the fall into the second division could just be averted in 2014.

On January 17th, the traditional French club Olympique Marseille announced their commitment. He switched for a transfer fee of nine million euros and three million euros in bonus payments.

National team

After his inclusion in the professional squad at Le Mans, the player was on the field for the first time for the French U-19 team on September 8, 2012 , when he was used from the start in a 1-0 win against Switzerland. Then he took part in the qualification for the EM 2013 and received one of the eight starting places for the tournament with his team. He skipped the U-20s, so he was able to make his debut directly in the U-21 team of the French on November 18, 2013 in a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands.
