The Morning Glory is a luxury class motor sailing yacht. It was built in 1993 for media entrepreneur Rupert Murdoch , who sold it to Silvio Berlusconi in 1999 .

The ship

The as ketch -rigged ship was on, which specializes in large yachts 1993 shipyard of Perini Navi in Viareggio designed, Italy, and built. Owner

The Morning Glory was commissioned by Rupert Murdoch in 1992 and put into service in 1993. On June 25, 1999, on board the yacht in New York Harbor, he married his third wife, Wendy Deng, in the presence of 82 invited guests.

At the end of 1999 Murdoch sold the boat for 4.5 million pounds sterling to Silvio Berlusconi , who liked the Morning Glory better than his 40 m yacht Principessa Vaivia , which was also built by Perini Navi in 1991 . In 2008 the boat was completely overhauled and refitted at the Marine Group Boat Works shipyard in Chula Vista near San Diego ( California ).
