Location and landscape

The Mosermandl is not the highest mountain in the Radstädter Tauern , but its most famous peak. The prominent peak lies between the Salzburg towns of Flachau im Pongau and Zederhaus im Lungau . The summit is called Großes Mosermandl , the Kleine Mosermandl is 2538  m above sea level. A. high pre-summit to the east.

An impressive view of the Mosermandl comes from looking into the valley from Zederhaus.

Starting points for tours on the Mosermandl are on the one hand the Riedingtal in Zederhaus and on the other hand Flachauwinkel in the Flachauertal (upper Ennstal).

The south side has some steep grass slopes and ridges that look easy to walk on from below, but are extremely slippery in wet weather and have repeatedly led to fatal accidents. In the upper part, the ascent runs through rocky terrain with a lot of scree and therefore requires a solid step security . The ascent from the north-west follows a diagonal rock chimney in the uppermost section and has the character of a simple, insured via ferrata with difficulty A – B.
