Moses Opondo (born October 28, 1997 ) is a Ugandan football player . The midfielder, who grew up in Denmark , is under contract with Odense BK and played for the Ugandan national team for the first time in 2018.

Moses Opondo was born in Uganda and moved to Denmark with his mother when he was four years old. There he first lived in Skagen in northern Jutland before moving to Frederikshavn , around 41 kilometers away .

Career

Moses Opondo started playing football at Bangsbo Freja in Frederikshavn, before going to the Aalborg BK football school , the largest club in the region, as a U13 player . In February 2014 he took part in the training camp of the professional team, but Opondo was denied the breakthrough at Aalborg BK.

In July 2016 - after he had outgrown the youth teams of Aalborg BK - he was awarded by the Aalborg team to the second division club Vendsyssel FF from Hjørring , 53 kilometers away . Opondo played his first adult game on July 24, 2016 in a 0-1 home game against HB Køge . He scored his first goals on August 10, 2016 in a 9-0 win in the first round of the Danish Cup in the away game against amateur club Birkelse IF. In this competition Moses Opondo reached the semi-finals, in which Vendsyssel FF was eliminated by FC Copenhagen . He came to four missions. In league operations he reached the promotion and relegation play-offs with his club, where Vendsyssel FF was eliminated by AC Horsens and thus missed promotion to the super league. Meanwhile, Opondo has been signed on after his loan deal was terminated. The 2017/18 season was synonymous with the breakthrough of the Ugandan native, when he fought for a regular place and with three assists in 28 games contributed to the renewed qualification for the promotion and relegation play-offs. This time Vendsyssel FF was successful and the Northern Jutes prevailed against Lyngby BK . In July 2018, Moses Opondo extended his contract until 2021. In his first first division game on July 15, 2018, he succeeded in the home game against Odense BK , which was won 3-2, the goal to 3-1.
