Karl Moter

Karl Ludwig Eduard Moter (born December 9, 1811 in Gießen , † February 8, 1888 in Hamburg ) was a Hessian officer, politician and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Land estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Karl Moter was the son of Major Friedrich Christian Alexander Moter (1775-1856) and his second wife Eleonore Friederike Justine, née Freiin Hornig von Hornburg (1785-1849). Moter, who was Protestant, married Magdalena nee Mann (1816–1879) in her first marriage and Bertha Johanna Antoniette nee Reper (1822–1904) in her second marriage .

Moter became a cadet in the 4th Infantry Regiment in 1830. In 1837 he was promoted to second lieutenant. In 1845 he became a first lieutenant in the 1st Infantry Regiment.

From 1849 to 1850 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Upper Hesse 11 / Hungen .
