A total of 49 drivers were able to classify. Five drivers gave up. The best Austrian was Nina Duftner in 20th place, 38:19 minutes behind.

The top trio collapsed on the last climb, but Henzi had technical problems on the following descent and fell back. In the end, Spitz clearly won against Süss in the sprint.

Gunn-Rita Dahle , defending champion and four-time marathon world champion, finished the race in 13th place. She became a mother on March 22nd of the same year and therefore hardly competed in races last season.
