Munia Smits (born December 23, 1999 in Antwerp , Belgium ) is a Belgian handball player who is under contract with the German first division club HSG Blomberg-Lippe .

Life

In her youth Munis Smits played for the Belgian club HC Uilenspiegel. In 2015 she moved to the youth team at HSG Blomberg-Lippe and was accepted at the local handball boarding school. With her team she reached the semi-finals of the A-Juniorinnen Handball-Bundesliga in 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 and was defeated by TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen . In 2018 he switched to the professional team. With the second team, she was top scorer in the third division with 177 goals in the 2017/18 season. In March 2019, her contract with the HSG was extended by two years. For the 2020/21 season she will move to the HSG Bad Wildungen .

Munia Smits is the younger sister of handball players Xenia Smits (* 1994) and Aaricia Smits (* 1998).
