Cara Hartstock (born March 18, 1994 in Lübeck ) is a German handball player who currently plays in the first division of the HSG Blomberg-Lippe .

career

Born in Lübeck, she began playing handball at NTSV Strand 08 and was part of the club's male youth teams under coach Holger Kretschmer . Via the stations VfL Bad Schwartau , Lübeck 1876 and HSC 2000 Magdeburg , she moved to HC Leipzig for the 2010/11 season . She won the German A youth championship with the Leipzig women in 2011/12 and 2012/13 and also gained her first experience in the senior sector. While she mainly belonged to the third division reserve of the HC, the circle runner came in January 2013 in the 30:21 win against HSG Bad Wildungen for her first Bundesliga appearance. After a second league season at SGH Rosengarten-Buchholz in Lower Saxony , she was signed by VfL Oldenburg for the 2014/15 season and scored 23 goals in 26 Bundesliga games there. In the 2016/17 season she had a second game right for the second division Werder Bremen . With Oldenburg, she won the DHB Cup in 2018 . Hartstock moved to TuS Metzingen for the 2019/20 season . In March 2020, the change to HSG Blomberg-Lippe for the next two seasons was announced.

Hartstock completed several games for the youth and junior national teams of the DHB . She was part of the roster of the German national team at the U-20 women's handball world championship in 2014 , the European youth championship in 2011 and the European youth championship in 2013.
