The municipality Cocapata is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Cocapata is one of three ( until 2009: two ) Municipios of the Ayopaya Province . It is bordered by the La Paz department to the west, the Morochata municipality to the southwest, the Quillacollo province to the southeast, the Chapare province to the east , and the Beni department to the north .

The central place of the municipality is Cocapata with 401 inhabitants in the southwestern part of the district. ( 2012 census )
