The municipality Cocapata is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Municipio Cocapata is one of three ( until 2009: two ) Municipios of the Ayopaya Province . It is bordered by the La Paz department to the west, the Morochata municipality to the southwest, the Quillacollo province to the southeast, the Chapare province to the east , and the Beni department to the north .
The central place of the municipality is Cocapata with 401 inhabitants in the southwestern part of the district. ( 2012 census )
geography
The municipality of Cocapata is located between the Cordillera Mazo Cruz and the Cordillera del Tunari , a north-western section of the Cordillera Oriental . The climate is a typical daytime climate , in which the temperature fluctuations between day and night are more pronounced than between the seasons.
The annual average temperature of the region is just under 15 ° C (see climate diagram Independencia) and fluctuates over the course of the year between 11 ° C in June / July and 17 ° C in November / December.
