The municipality of Ocurí is a district in the Potosí department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Ocurí is one of four Municipios in the Province of Chayanta . It borders the municipality of Colquechaca to the north and west , the province of Tomás Frías to the southwest , the province of Cornelio Saavedra to the southeast , and the municipality of Ravelo to the east . It extends for about 65 kilometers in a north-south and over 35 kilometers in an east-west direction.

The central place of the municipality is the village of Ocurí with 1,722 inhabitants ( 2012 ) in the center of the district.

The municipality of Ocurí lies between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Andean mountain range of the Cordillera Central in the east. The region is characterized by a distinct daytime climate , in which the temperatures between day and night fluctuate more strongly than during the average year.
