The Municipio Ravelo is a district in the Potosí Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Municipio Ravelo is one of four Municipios in the Province of Chayanta . It is bordered by the province of Charcas to the north, the department of Chuquisaca to the east, the province of Cornelio Saavedra to the southwest, the municipality of Ocurí to the west, and the municipality of Colquechaca to the northwest . It extends over 70 kilometers in a north-south and over 45 kilometers in an east-west direction.
The central place of the municipality Ravelo is the village Ravelo with 1,826 inhabitants ( 2012 ) on the trunk road Ruta 6 in the central eastern part of the municipality.

The Municipio Ravelo is located east of the Altiplano in the Bolivian Cordillera Central . The climate is a moderate altitude climate with a typical time-of-day climate , in which the temperature differences fluctuate more during the day than during the year.
The annual average temperature in the Ravelo region is around 16 ° C (see Sucre climate diagram), the monthly averages fluctuate between 14 ° C in June / July and 17 ° C in October / November. The annual precipitation is about 700 mm and has five arid months from May to September with monthly values below 25 mm, and a significant humidity period from December to February with monthly precipitation between 125 and 150 mm.
