The Municipio Okinawa Uno (also: Okinawa Número Uno ) is a district in the Santa Cruz Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Okinawa Uno is one of two Municipios in the Ignacio Warnes Province . It borders the Municipio Warnes to the west, the Andrés Ibáñez Province to the south , and the Ñuflo de Chávez Province to the east and north . It stretches for about 50 kilometers in a north-south and over 25 kilometers in an east-west direction.

The central place of the municipality is the city of Okinawa I with 6,344 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the northern half of the municipality.

The municipality of Okinawa Uno is located in a tropical, humid climate in front of the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental . The region was covered by subtropical rainforest before colonization , but is now mostly cultivated land .
