The Municipio Warnes is a district in the Santa Cruz Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Municipio Warnes is one of three Municipios in the Ignacio Warnes Province . It borders in the north with the province of Ñuflo de Chávez , in the north-west with the province Obispo Santistevan , in the south-west with the province Sara , in the south with the province Andrés Ibáñez , and in the east with the municipality Okinawa Uno . It extends for about 65 kilometers in a north-south and over 35 kilometers in an east-west direction.
The central place of the municipality is the city of Warnes with 77,668 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) on the southwestern edge of the municipality.
geography
The municipality of Warnes is located in the tropical humid climate in front of the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental . The region was covered by subtropical rainforest before colonization , but is now mostly cultivated land .
The mean average temperature of the region is just under 24 ° C (see Warnes climate diagram), the monthly values fluctuate between 20 ° C in June / July and 26 ° C from November to February. The annual precipitation is about 1300 mm, the monthly precipitation is productive and lies between 35 mm in August and 200 mm in January.

The life expectancy of newborns in 2001 was 64.8 years, the infant mortality had increased slightly from 7.0 percent ( 1992 ) to 5.9 percent in 2001.
The literacy rate among those over 6 years of age has risen from 85.5 percent ( 1992 ) to 92.4 percent. 97.7 percent of the population speak Spanish , 13.5 percent speak Quechua , 5.4 percent Guaraní , and 1.2 percent Aymara .
