El Tajibo is a town in the Santa Cruz Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia . In Bolivia, the word "Tajibo" denotes the tree Handroanthus impetiginosus , which is widespread in the Bolivian lowlands, as well as other species of the same genus.

Location in the vicinity

El Tajibo is the most populous place in the canton of Los Chacos in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Warnes in the province of Ignacio Warnes in the western part of the Santa Cruz department. The village is located at an altitude of 265  m between Río Grande (25 km) in the east and Río Piraí (35 km) in the west. The nearest major towns are Los Chaco in the canton of Los Chaco and the city of Okinawa I .

El Tajibo is located in the tropical, humid climate off the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental . The region was covered by subtropical rainforest before colonization , but is now mostly cultivated land .

The 828 kilometer long highway Ruta 10 , which crosses the Bolivian lowlands in an east-west direction, runs through El Tajibo from San Matías on the Brazilian border to San Juan del Piraí in the colonization area between Río Piraí and Río Grande .
