San Bartolo is a town in the Santa Cruz Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
San Bartolo is a municipality in the canton of San Ignacio de Velasco in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) of San Ignacio in the province of Velasco . The village is located at an altitude of 273 m, three kilometers south of the Bolivian border with Brazil .

San Bartolo is located in the Bolivian lowlands on the edge of the South American Pantanal , a largely untouched wetland in the Bolivian- Brazilian border area. The region's climate is a semi-humid climate of the warm tropics .

From Santa Cruz, the asphalted highway Ruta 4 leads 57 kilometers northwards via Warnes to Montero . A few kilometers north of Montero, it meets Ruta 10 , which leads over a distance of 648 kilometers to the east and crosses the towns of San Ramón , San Javier and Santa Rosa de la Roca as an asphalt road. The road is unpaved for the remaining 370 kilometers via San Ignacio de Velasco and San Vicente de la Frontera to San Bartolo and on to the border town of San Matías .
