Murchison Medal
The Murchison Medal is an award given by the Geological Society of London to scientists for outstanding achievements in the field of geology since 1873 . It was donated by Roderick Murchison in 1871 .
It should not be confused with the Murchison Award given by the Royal Geographical Society .
