Muscari spreitzenhoferi ( Heldr. Ex Osterm. ) Vierh. (Syn .: Leopoldia spreitzenhoferi Heldr. Ex Osterm. ) Is a plant from the genus of grape hyacinths ( Muscari ) in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae).

features

Muscari spreitzenhoferi is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 5 to 20 centimeters. This geophyte forms onions as persistent organs. The leaves are (2) 3 to 9 (15) millimeters wide. The grape is conical, short and consists of only a few flowers . The 10 to 30 fertile flowers are (4) 5 to 7 millimeters in size, dark greenish-brown in color and have yellow teeth. Their stems are ascending and (1) 2 to 5 (6) millimeters long. Barren flowers are few or completely absent. The fruits are 6 to 8 millimeter large capsules.

The flowering period extends from April to July.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 18 or 36.

Occurrence

Muscari spreitzenhoferi is on Crete in the regional districts Chania , Rethymno , Iraklio and Lasithi endemic . The species grows in Phrygana , on rocks, on clay surfaces and on sandy coasts at altitudes from 0 to 2200 meters.
