Mwaro is a province of Burundi . It is located in the center of the country. The provincial capital is also called Mwaro . Until 2002, Mwaro was part of Muramvya Province .

In 2007 Mwaro has a population of around 287,000.

Mwaro is divided into six districts ( communes ) Bisoro , Gisozi , Kayokwe , Ndava , Nyabihanga and Rusaka .
