Ngozi is a province of Burundi . It is located in the north of the country and borders on Rwanda . Their capital is also called Ngozi .

In 2007 Ngozi has about 749,000 inhabitants.

Ngozi is divided into the nine districts ( communes ) Busiga , Gashikanwa , Kiremba , Marangara , Mwumba , Ngozi, Nyamurenza , Ruhogoro and Tangara .

economy

Agriculture in the area consists of growing coffee, bananas, cassava, sweet potatoes, beans and maize, and livestock is also practiced. Cassiterite (tin stone) is mined and tea is processed.

At the end of 2006 it was reported that Ngozi was starving. 79 people died as a result of its consequences, and hundreds fled to Rwanda or Tanzania .
