My Way ( English for " My Way / My Way ") is a song by American nu-metal - band Limp Bizkit . The song is the fourth single from their third studio album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water and was released on January 6, 2001.

My Way is sung by Fred Durst from the perspective of a lyric self . He makes it clear to an unnamed person in his environment that he will no longer allow anything to be dictated by him. So he gives the person the choice of doing things his own way or leaving them and going his own way. Exactly who the person the lyrical self is addressing is left open.

The music video for My Way was shot by Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst. It has over 130 million views on YouTube (as of August 2019).
At the beginning, Fred Durst and Wes Borland talk about what kind of video they should shoot for the song. Since they have no ideas, Fred Durst says he'll come up with something in the cloakroom. The video then switches between five different scenarios. This is how you see the band playing the song in a black and red room. In other settings, the five band members drive through the city on motorcycles in front of a blue screen or can be seen as Stone Age people in the jungle. In addition, Limp Bizkit is as big band shown with the other members in part by Fred Durst directed to. Sometimes Fred Durst sings the song alone in a dark room. The different scenes all end up in an argument between the band members.
