Greatest Hitz ( English for "Greatest Hits") is a best-of album by the US Nu-Metal band Limp Bizkit . It was released on November 8, 2005 on the Geffen Records and Flip Records labels .

Most of the songs on the album are previously released singles from the four studio albums released to date: Three Dollar Bill, Yall $ (two songs), Significant Other (four songs), Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (five tracks ) and Results May Vary (three pieces). Only the tracks Why , Lean on Me and Home Sweet Home / Bittersweet Symphony are new releases.

The only guest contribution on the album comes from the rapper Method Man , who can be heard in the song N 2 Gether Now .

The entire album was produced by the band's front man, Fred Durst , in collaboration with Liam Ward.

Cover design

The album cover is kept quite simple. It shows a pink circle that contains an opening resembling a keyhole. At the top of the picture is the band name limpbizkit in gray and at the bottom of the picture is the title Greatest Hitz in black. The background is kept white.

The best-of album rose to number 25 in the German charts and stayed in the top 100 for seven weeks. In the United States, the album reached number 47 and left the charts after three weeks.

Home Sweet Home / Bittersweet Symphony was released as a single . The song reached position 45 in Germany and stayed in the top 100 for nine weeks.

For each more than 100,000 copies sold, Greatest Hitz was awarded a gold record in Germany in 2011 and in the United Kingdom in 2013 .

Eberhard Dobler from laut.de rated the album with three out of a possible five points. He describes it as an “obligatory best of” because “enough tracks are together”. The three new pieces are "melodic alternative rock", in which Fred Durst "tries increasingly as a singer."
