Rollin '(Air Raid Vehicle) ( English for " roles (Air Raid Vehicle) ") is a song by American nu-metal - band Limp Bizkit . The song is the third single from their third studio album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water and was released on October 10, 2000.

content

In the chorus of Rollin ' the audience is addressed directly, who should keep moving and dance to the song. Here are metaphorically parallels drawn into a moving car. In the verses, the band itself is especially praised, which brings the mood to a boil with their performances and has received several platinum awards for their music .

“I move in, now move out, hands up, now hands down!
Back up, back up, tell me what you're gonna do now!
Breathe in, now breathe out, hands up, now hands down!
Back up, back up, tell me what you're gonna do now!
Keep rollin ', rollin', rollin ', rollin' ”

production

The song was produced by the American music producer Terry Date in collaboration with Limp Bizkit. The lyrics were written by Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst , while the music was written by band members Wes Borland , John Otto and Sam Rivers .

Music video

The music video for Rollin ' was shot by Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst in late 2000. With over 140 million views (as of October 2019), it is the band's most watched video on YouTube .

At the beginning the actors Ben Stiller and Stephen Dorff drive up in their Bentley Azure and give Fred Durst, who is sitting on a bench, the car key, assuming he is the valet service . Fred Durst does not miss this chance and then drives through New York City by car , gradually collecting the other members of Limp Bizkit. Occasionally scenes are shown in which the band plays the song at night on the south tower of the World Trade Center , which collapsed less than a year after shooting as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 . Further recordings show Fred Durst, who sings the song, accompanied by five background dancers.

The video won the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Rock Video .
