content

Take a Look Around is an announcement from Limp Bizkit to all critics of their performance and their music. Fred Durst asks himself where all the hatred comes from that has hit him since he was successful. He concludes that the critics simply do not understand his art and instead of enjoying their short life, they waste it on hatred because the whole world is full of hate.

“Now all the critics wanna hit it, ya shit can how we did it
Just because they don't get it
[…]
Do we always gotta cry? Do we always gotta live inside a lie?
Life's just a blast that's movin 'really fast
You better stay on top or life will kick you in the ass
[…]
I know why you wanna hate me
' Cause hate is all the world has even seen lately ”

production

Take a Look Around was produced by Limp Bizkit. The lyrics were written by Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst , while the music was written by the Argentine composer Lalo Schifrin and comes from the US television series Kobra, you take over (Original title: Mission: Impossible ).

Music video

Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst directed the music video that was shot for Take a Look Around .

At the beginning of the video, Fred Durst receives a phone call asking him to get a suitcase with a floppy disk from a group of secret agents. He talks to his bandmates and they decide to buy disguises. Shortly afterwards, four secret agents enter a restaurant where the band members work undercover as cooks, kitchen helpers and waiters. The group serves the agent who is in possession of the suitcase an extra spicy soup, whereupon the agent runs to the bathroom in a panic. When the agent comes back from the toilet, Fred Durst knocks him down with a bowl full of dishes. A fight ensues in which the suitcase opens and the floppy disk falls out. She is caught by a restaurant employee who hands a telephone receiver to Fred Durst in which the voice from the beginning explains that the mission is to be aborted and that the agents are only decoys. Between the plot you can see sequences from the movie Mission: Impossible II and the band that plays the song in a dark room.
