Myrtle Augee
Myrtle Augee ( Myrtle Sharon Mary Augee ) (born February 4, 1965 in Greenwich , London ) is a former British shot putter .
Starting in 1986, she won bronze for England at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh and came 17th at the European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart . The following year she was at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Liévin seventh. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, she was eliminated in qualification.
A seventh place at the European Indoor Championships in 1989 in The Hague was followed in 1990 by a victory at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland and a ninth place at the European Championships in Split .
At the World Athletics Championships in 1991 in Tokyo and 1993 in Stuttgart , at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and at the 1994 European Championships in Helsinki, she did not get beyond the preliminary round. She won silver at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria in 1994 and in Kuala Lumpur in 1998 and was fifth in Manchester in 2002 .
She was English champion five times (1989, 1992, 1993, 1999, 2002) and three times British champion (1990, 1992, 1993). In 1989 she won the English title in the hall.
