Coordinates: 57 ° 39 ′ N , 14 ° 42 ′ E Nässjö is a municipality ( Swedish commun ) and an important railway junction in the Swedish province of Jönköpings län and the historic province of Småland . The main town of the municipality is Nässjö .
geography
Like the neighboring communities of Eksjö , Sävsjö and Vetlanda, the municipality is located in Småländska Höglandet , the Småland highlands , which in turn is part of the southern Swedish highlands, Sydsvenska Höglandet . The area is between 200 and 250 meters high. The highest point is Tomtabacken with a height of 377 meters. It is located about 20 kilometers from the main town in the southwest of the municipality.
history
The rural community of Nässjö was merged with the city of Nässjö in 1952 and expanded to include the rural communities of Norra Sandsjö , Solberga , Forserum and Malmbäck in 1971 .
