Nélia Martins

Nélia Martins (born July 9, 1998 in Dili , East Timor ) is a middle distance runner from East Timor.

The 150 cm tall athlete achieved her personal best on June 4, 2016 in the 1500 m distance with 4: 58.80.

Martins achieved her best time over 3000 m on June 6, 2016 with 10: 58.03 and on June 9, 2015 over 5000 m 19: 11.00 (9th place in the final at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games ). Her best time over 3000 m obstacle comes from June 5, 2016 with 11: 42.94.

At the Jogos da Lusofonia 2014 in Goa , Martins achieved fourth place on 1500 m, as well as at the Youth Olympics Asian Area Qualification on May 22, 2014 in Bangkok with 11: 16.16.

Martins also competed over 1500 m at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . In the third run, she finished last out of 13 runners with a time of 5:00:53. She was also the slowest of the 41 runners who started.

In the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta Martins also took part.
