The NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series is a NASCAR series that races exclusively in Mexico . It is the original Desafio Corona Series , the largest stock car series in Mexico, which was founded in 2004 by NASCAR and OCESA, an entertainment company. The partnership between NASCAR and OCESA is now officially known as NASCAR Mexico .

NASCAR Mexico has been sanctioning today's PEAK Mexico Series together with the NASCAR Mexico T4 Series since 2007 . The series is classified by NASCAR as a regional series, as is the NASCAR Pinty's Series or the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East .

The series did not take place in 2016, largely because the organizers preferred to support the Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix . Many drivers then switched to the Super Copa Telcel "V8" Series. In October 2016 it was announced that the series would return in 2017 with the new sponsor PEAK.
