Nala ( English Nala Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the Lejweleputswa District , Free State Province , South Africa . The seat of the local government is in Bothaville . Mayor is Theko Mogoje.

Nala is the Sesotho word for "prosperity". It refers to the regional agricultural sector with the corn cultivation widespread here.

In 2011 the community had 81,220 inhabitants. Of these, 93.1% were black, 5.8% white and 0.6% colored . The population decreased to 78,515 by 2016.

The first language was 72.8% Sesotho, 8.7% IsiXhosa , 7.3% Afrikaans, 3.9% Setswana , 2% English, 1.4% isiZulu and 1.1% isiNdebele .
