Tswelopele ( English Tswelopele Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the Lejweleputswa District , Free State Province , South Africa . The administrative headquarters are in Bultfontein . Tankiso Frans Matsholo is the mayor.

The community name means "progress" in Sesotho and means the development of public services and infrastructure in this area since 1994.

The municipality is not far from Bloemhof Dam am Vaal . There are also two nature reserves: the Bloemhof Dam Nature Reserve (632 hectares ) and the Sandveld Nature Reserve (24,883.5 hectares).
