Nantenbach is a district of the municipality of Neuendorf in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart .
geography
Nantenbach is located in the Würzburg region in the Vorspessart and is delimited to the south by the Main . However, there is only one district , Neuendorf.
history
Nantenbach is the older part of the Neuendorf community. Neuendorf itself was first mentioned in 1327. Nantenbach belonged to the Partenstein office . This had changing masters: First the Counts of Rieneck , since 1277 the Archbishops of Mainz and the Lords and Counts of Hanau together, from 1684 only the Archbishopric. Compulsory labor had to be done temporarily to the Partenstein and Hohenroth offices. As an acquisition of the inhabitants, agriculture dominated on poor soil on red sandstone .
As part of the Archbishopric of Mainz, Nantenbach fell to the newly formed Principality of Aschaffenburg in the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803 , with which (now a department of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt ) it came to Bavaria in 1814 . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, with the municipal edict of 1818, today's municipality was created under the name "Neuendorf".
In 1862 the district office Lohr am Main was formed, on whose administrative area Nantenbach was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Nantenbach now belonged to the Lohr am Main district (license plate LOH ). With the dissolution of the Lohr district in 1972, Nantenbach became part of the newly formed Main-Spessart district (license plate KAR , MSP from 1979 ).
Religions
Ecclesiastically, Nantenbach used to belong to the Roman Catholic parish Lohr am Main , later to Langenprozelten . In 1717 a small branch church was built in Neuendorf , which was expanded to its present size in 1928/1929. Saint Sebastian is the church patron . The parish has had its own clergyman for 70 years. The proportion of Roman Catholics in the population is around 90 percent.
traffic
Nantenbach is on federal highway 26 .
Nantenbach is located on the Ludwigs-Westbahn , today: Main-Spessart-Bahn . However - in contrast to Neuendorf until 1982 - it never had its own breakpoint . In the course of the construction of the high-speed line from Hanover to Würzburg , the Nantenbach curve was also built and named after Nantenbach. It connects the high-speed line with the Main-Spessart-Bahn. A spectacular structure for this is the Main Valley Bridge Nantenbach , which stretches in a wide curve from Nantenbach over the Main to the opposite bank and leads the route directly into the Schönrain Tunnel .
