Narciso Cardinal Jubany Arnau , in Catalan Narcís Jubany i Arnau , (born August 12, 1913 in Santa Coloma de Farners , Spain , † December 26, 1996 in Barcelona ) was Archbishop of Barcelona .

Life

Narciso Jubany Arnau received his philosophical and theological training in Barcelona, Comillas , in Rome he was a seminarian at the Pontifical Spanish College of St. Joseph . He received his doctorate in both Catholic theology and in canon law , and received on 30 July 1939, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He then worked as a pastor , lecturer and in the administration of the Archdiocese of Barcelona .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on November 24, 1955 titular bishop of Orthosias in Phenicia and auxiliary bishop in Barcelona. As part of the solemn consistory of March 5, 1973, he accepted Narciso Jubany Arnau as a cardinal priest with the titular church of San Lorenzo in Damaso in the college of cardinals .

Narciso Cardinal Jubany Arnau was a member of the Council of Cardinals to study organizational and economic issues of the Holy See .
