history

Nassach

Nassach was probably founded around 900 by defense farmers from today's Hesse who were supposed to secure the Rennweg . The place was first mentioned in a document from 1271, when the rule passed from the Lords of Wildberg to the Counts of Henneberg . In 1353 they donated their property to the Sonnefeld Monastery , which eventually acquired the entire village. From 1353 the monastery was under the rule of the Wettins and thus Nassach as a Saxon exclave of the later various Ernestine principalities . These were Saxe-Weimar (1565–1572), Saxe-Coburg (1572–1633), Saxe-Eisenach (1633–1638), Saxe-Altenburg (1640–1672), Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (1672–1680) and Saxony -Coburg (1680-1696). Nassach was pledged to Fuchs von Bimbach in 1668 , and from 1702 to Truchseß von Wetzhausen . After the redemption in 1788, the place was transferred to Sachsen-Hildburghausen until 1826 and from 1826 to 1918 to the Duchy of Sachsen-Coburg and Gotha . With the Free State of Coburg (1918–1920) Nassach finally came to the Free State of Bavaria .

On July 1, 1974, the then independent municipality was incorporated into the municipality of Aidhausen as part of the municipal area reform.
