history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1233 and 1292 as Nossaczouicy . The name is patronymically derived from the first name Nosacz (not connected with the word Sącz ).

In 1293 the village was transferred to German law . It originally belonged to the Poor Clares in Stary Sącz.

After the First Partition of Poland , Naszacowice became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).

In 1783, as part of the Josephine colonization, eight German families of Lutheran and Reformed denominations were settled as colonists. The name Naschatowitz Colonia was mentioned for this small colony in 1794. The colonists belonged to the parish in Stadła . By the end of the 19th century, the colonists' descendants were Polonized. In 1900 the village had 526 inhabitants, all of them Polish-speaking, 519 Roman Catholics and 7 Jews.

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Naszacowice became part of Poland. This was interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II , during which it belonged to the Generalgouvernement .

From 1975 to 1998 Naszacowice was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
