Natacha Régnier (born April 11, 1972 in Ixelles / Elsene ) is a Belgian actress and singer .

Life

After graduating from high school , Natacha Régnier passed the entrance examination at the University of Drama in Brussels, but had to drop out of training after less than a year. She was advised not to learn the profession of actress.

Nevertheless, she made a couple of short films in the early 1990s and met Pascal Bonitzer in the process. After initial difficulties in Paris and a few extras, she shot the film Encore with Bonitzer in 1996 , in which Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi was her film partner.

In 1998 she was filming A Criminal Couple, directed by François Ozon , who also wrote the screenplay . This is a modern erotic fairy tale, based on Hansel and Gretel . The long-awaited breakthrough also followed in 1998, with the portrayal of Marie Thomas in the film Love the Life of Erick Zonca . She won the Best Actor Award at Cannes in 1998 with her co-star Elodie Bouchez . The performance of the two actresses was later honored with the European Film Prize . There should also be a turning point in her private life: While filming, she met the film composer Yann Tiersen ( The fabulous world of Amélie and Good Bye, Lenin! ). Daughter Lise (* 2002) comes from this relationship. In the same year she recorded songs with Tiersen for his album L'absente . Further songs by her have not yet been released.

After her baby break, Natacha Régnier received a variety of role offers. She made eight films within a few months, but they can only be seen in France . Her great role model is Sandrine Bonnaire .

In November 2005 the 19th film festival in Braunschweig dedicated a homage to her with eight films. In addition, her film Stille Jagd (2004) was shown as part of the competition for the Der Heinrich prize awarded by the audience .
