action

Alice, in a relationship with Luc, is wanted by her classmate Saïd. When she cannot bear its attraction, she and Luc, who is unconditionally devoted to her, decide to kill Saïd. After Luc did the deed and they buried Said's body in the forest, they got lost. In a hut far from civilization, they meet its inhabitants and are taken prisoner by him. Alice is being held in the basement of the hut, which is now also Said's body. Meanwhile, Luc - often on a leash - comes under the wing of the cannibalistic hut dweller in a homoerotic relationship as a slave.

Luc and Alice manage to escape the hut. They sleep together on their escape and are found by the police. Alice is shot while trying to escape, the hut dweller and Luc are taken into police custody.

Reviews

“In a mixture of crime study and cannibalistic fairy tale, he tells the story of two seekers. This creates an associative proximity to the Grimm fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel and film classics such as Blair Witch Project or Bonnie and Clyde . "

- Filmreporter.de

"Cranky and sexually charged variant of the 'Hansel and Gretel' material full of deliberate breaking of taboos and allusions to the latent homosexuality of its youthful leading actor."

"François Ozon, who also became known to us through the Fassbinder film adaptation Drops on Hot Stones , varies the 'Hansel and Gretel' fairy tale in a bilious, poetically evil and thoroughly gay way. Daring, skillful and very stubborn!"

“With drops on hot stones and 8 women , François Ozon offered wonderful gay cinema evenings. However, this early crime drama is almost unknown. Ozon expands the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel into an adult version about jealousy, bondage and sexual disorientation, which breaks with all child-friendly interpretations. "
