Natalja Petrovna Zyganowa ( Russian Наталья Петровна Цыганова , English transcription Natalya Tsyganova ; born February 7, 1971 in Frunze , Kyrgyz SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian middle-distance runner .

Career

In 1999 Zyganowa won the bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships in Maebashi ( Japan ). At the world championships in Seville (Spain) in the same year , she finished fifth in the 800-meter run.

Zyganowa took part in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney in the 800-meter run, but could not qualify for the final.

At the European Indoor Championships in Ghent ( Belgium ) in 2000 , Zyganowa won the silver medal in the 800-meter run. Five years later she won the bronze medal in the 800-meter run at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid in 2005 .

At the national level, Zyganova won the Russian championship in 1999 and 2000.
