Natasha Mayers

Natasha Laren Mayers (born March 10, 1979 in St. Vincent ) is a Vincentian sprinter .

Life

At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, she did not get beyond the first round over 100 m . In 2001 she came at the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton over 100 m in the semifinals and was eliminated over 200 m in the preliminary run.

In 2002, she became NCAA 200 m champion for the University of Southern California . At the Commonwealth Games in Manchester she was fourth over 200 m and eighth over 100 m. At the 2003 World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis and at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, she reached the quarter-finals over 100 m, but both times had to forego a start due to an injury.

In 2005 she was tested positive for testosterone in a doping control and suspended for two years for this violation of the doping regulations .

At the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi, she finished third in the 100 m finals. After Sally Pearson had been disqualified for a false start she had caused and Oludamola Osayomi, who had moved up to first place , was convicted of doping, Mayers was subsequently declared the winner.
