Nathan Marsters (born January 28, 1980 in Grimsby , Ontario , † June 8, 2009 in Hamilton , Ontario) was a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper . In the NHL Entry Draft 2000 he was selected in the fifth round in 165th place by the Los Angeles Kings .
Career
The 1.93 m tall and 86 kg heavy Marsters began to play ice hockey at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2000 . From the 2004/05 season he played with the Louisiana IceGators . Other positions between 2005 and 2007 were the Portland Pirates from the American Hockey League , Augusta Lynx and Wheeling Nailers from the ECHL and the Laredo Bucks from the Central Hockey League . This was followed by the jump to Europe to the EC Graz 99ers . After that, he moved to the Krefeld Pinguinen in the German Ice Hockey League on January 31, 2008 .
Nathan Marsters was killed in a road accident in the suburbs of Hamilton in June 2009 after a reindeer crossed the street and ran into his car.
