The Palenque National Park is located near the historic town of Palenque in the rainforest of the state of Chiapas in Mexico .
The UNESCO executes the / the "Pre-Hispanic City and National Park of Palenque" on the World Heritage List and the National Park is by the IUCN classified in category II. The park is administered by the state of Chiapas.
The park is six kilometers from Palenque . Various temples are located in the rainforest region. The Montiepa waterfall is also in the park. The park was established in 1981 and has a size of 17.72 km².
