The Charlottenhofer Weihergebiet is a nature reserve , FFH area and EU bird sanctuary near Schwandorf in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria .

The nature reserve is 6.2 kilometers northeast of Schwandorf. It lies partly in the Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park and is part of the Charlottenhofer Weiher landscape protection area and the two largely congruent fauna and flora habitats (FFH) Charlottenhofer Weihergebiet, Hirtlohweiher and Langwiedteiche as well as the EU bird sanctuary Charlottenhofer Weihergebiet, Hirtlohweiher and Langwiedteiche .

The 862 hectare area is the second largest nature reserve in the Upper Palatinate. It is the remainder of an old pond area, a large part of which was lost due to lignite mining . It represents an important resting and nationally important breeding area for endangered bird species. In this area, the formation of floating leaf, silting, moor and broken forest communities can be found.

The nature reserve was designated on December 15, 1988.
