The idea of digital information on a voluntary basis was implemented by Naver Corporation from 2002 with great success and therefore later by many competitors, such as B. Yahoo! Answers (2006), gutefrage.net (2006) or Wer-weiss-was.de (2007). Other important contents of the portal are the large collection of webtoons (web manhwas ), web novels, proprietary dictionaries and "navercasts". For registered users, the company provides e-mail and 30 gigabytes of web space (as of 2014). The portal's search engine dominates the Korean market for search queries with a market share of over 70%, followed by the search engines Daum and Google. Yahoo , which established a Korean branch in 1997, withdrew from the market in 2012, but continues to offer its service in Korean.
