Location of Neckarhalde in Esslingen am Neckar

Neckarhalde is a district of Esslingen am Neckar . It is located on a hill northwest of the city center. The Neckarhalde borders the districts of Rüdern , Sulzgries , Mettingen and the city center.

history

In 1906 an association for the establishment of rural homesteads was founded in Stuttgart . It was initiated by Walter von Gizycki, who claims to be a businessman, economist and economist, who lived in Stuttgart since 1906 and in Esslingen from around 1909, where he died in 1930. Homesteads for the less well-off should be created. At the suggestion of the Esslingen manufacturer Dick, the rather unknown architect Heinrich Werner became chairman of the association. Negotiations with the city of Esslingen ran through him. After the sale of an area on the Sulzgrieser Heide had been approved by the city council and citizens' committee in August 1908, the first Esslinger Heimstättengenossenschaft Neckarhalde was founded in October . At the end of 1909 ten houses were completed according to Werner's plans, in which 51 people lived. A year later there were 16 houses with 79 residents. In the following years the homestead colony experienced a further boom that lasted until the 1920s. However, as originally planned, the colony was not a home for the poor . Most of the residents were skilled workers, self-employed artisans, employees and public servants. In addition, young supporters of the reform movement sometimes lived on the Neckarhalde, such as Karl Bittel or Friedrich Muck-Lamberty . They in turn maintained contacts with visitors to the homestead colony such as Johannes R. Becher or Gustav Landauer .

politics

The contact person for the issues of the district for the city administration and the municipal council of Esslingen is the Citizens Committee RSKN (Rüdern, Sulzgries, Krummenacker , Neckarhalde). At the district level, the citizens' committee helps shape community life. He is a member of the working group of citizens 'committees , which exists to exchange experiences and coordinate the individual citizens' committees of the city. The basis for the working method and the structure of the citizens' committee and the working group is the status adopted by the working group on February 21, 1991 . An agreement was reached as the basis for the cooperation between the citizens' committee, the municipal council and the administration . This was approved by the working group on July 17, 1990 and approved by the municipal council on December 10, 1990. In June 2000, both the status and the agreement were editorially revised.

In the public citizens 'meeting , which the city of Esslingen held on March 21, 2019 in the RSKN community center in Rüdern, the citizens' committee Rüdern, Sulzgries, Krummenacker, Neckarhalde was elected for 3 years.

Community center RSKN

The community center RSKN , Sulzgrieser Str. 170, was officially opened on November 28 of 2009. It is located on the borders of the 3 suburbs Rüdern, Sulzgries and Krummenacker. The community center should be a common roof for groups and associations. It was bought from the fortune of the founder Richard Clauss and rebuilt. On July 16, 2007, the Bürgerhaus Foundation in RSKN acquired its legal capacity. There is a drinks dealer on the ground floor.
